Save our forests!!!
We need the green zones on our planet and they're getting smaller and smaller every second...
our climate needs the forests...
important message, pls dont click it away as an advertisement!!! we have to do something, we have to wake up!! this planet needs our help!! we have destroyed it now we have to give back what we took!! this is a beautiful world and we are destroying it, even if we dont think we do... its not the fault of single persons. (okay, maybe some are bit worse than others) its the fault of our whole humanity. but we can still change something!! when we all stick together we can move mountains :)

Easy things everybody can do. Tipps for the everyday life...
turn it off
use a large power strip for your computer, broadband modem, scanner
save paper
reuse paper for scrap, recycle, and/or print both sides of a page when possible. better yet, go paperless!!
use plants that repel insects
some herbs and flowers do
use natural alternatives to pesticides
mix neem oil and garlic oil an spray on tree trunks and diseased plants and shrubs. this works like a charm on pests, bacteria and fungus. and maybe it even helps against vampires...:)
use compost instead of fertilizer
compost and mulch improve soil health and reduce the need for pesticides and fertilizers. you plants will thank you...
choose local plants
they are more likely to provide appropriate food and shelter to the insects, birds and other wildlife in your are. this can help local biodiversity enormously (in your own garden...:))
collect rainwater and rinsing water
reuse them to water house plants
install a flush saver on your toilet
two-button double flush toilets let you control how much water you use.
install water-saving, low-flow shower heads
these deliver good performance for only half of the water use...
fix dripping tabs
a tap dripping 45 times per minute wastes around 1,000 litres of water a month, the equivalent of 10 baths per year. and the sound is annoying too...:)
turn off the tap
dont let the water run while shaving, brushing teeth or washing vegetables.
go paperless
electronic mail, internet, intranets and document scanners can radically reduce paper use while also saving you time and money.
use both sides of the sheet of paper
this is a really easy way of reducing you paper consumption by 50%. set you printer or copier's defaults to double sided.
think before you print
pushing the print button is too easy. so next time, ask yourself the golden rule of saving paper: do i really need to print this?
buy local
wherever possible, buy local seasonal produce that hasnt crossed the globe to get to you.
buy in season
fruit and vegetables produced during their natural season have a much lower footprint than the same produce grown out of season
take a shower... (instead of a bath)
...but dont take too much shampoo!!
this contains palm oil and for palm oil our rain forests are destroyed...
buy sustainably produced food
choose organic food,
sustainable seafood,
sustainable palm oil.
cut down on meat and dairy
--->animal protein
keeping your fridge cool
keep your fridge at the right temperature and defrost regularly to keep it working efficiently.
hang it out to dry
drying your clothes on a line, either inside or outside. uses no energy at all
Wash economically
use your washing machine only when you have a full load, select economy programmes and lowest possible temperature.
Making light work for you
Reflectors and directional lamps cam aim light where you need it, saving another 50% in energy (and money...:)) and improving your home or office to boot.
Install!!
...energy-efficient light bulbs. use compact fluorescent lamps and LED lamps
Unplug!!
unplug chargers for mobile devices when you're not using them
Turn off!!
...your computer at night
This arent things that need much money or time, mostly they even save the money.
everybody can do something, and many little steps on the right way make the goal.

i do this just because i believe that we can change something even if it looks hopeless.
i DONT gain anything by running this blog and when i post my link everywhere than just because i want people to wake up.

pandas behaviour
Behaviour
Though the Giant Panda is often assumed to be docile, it has been known to attack humans, presumably out of irritation rather than predation.
In the wild, the Giant Panda is a terrestrial animal and primarily spends its life roaming and feeding in the bamboo forests.
Giant Pandas tend to be alone, however each adult has a defined territory and females are not tolerant of other females in their range.
Giant Pandas communicate through vocalization and scent marking such as clawing trees or spraying urine.
Giant Pandas are able to climb and take shelter in hollow trees or rock crevices but do not establish permanent dens. For this reason, pandas do not hibernate, which is similar to other subtropical mammals, and will instead move to elevations with warmer temperatures.
Giant Pandas utilise spatial memory rather than visual memory.
The Giant Panda can usually live to be 25-30 years old in captivity.
Social encounters occur primarily during the brief breeding season in which pandas in proximity to one another will gather. After mating, the male leaves the female alone to raise the cub.

our lovely pandas
The scientific name for the Giant Panda is Ailuropoda melanoleuca and that literally means "cat foot black and white"
In Chinese, the Panda is called ‘Da Xiong Mao’ 大熊貓, which translates to ‘giant bear cat’. This is because unlike other bears which have eyes with round pupils, the Panda’s eyes have cat-like vertical slits as pupils.

That's so sad...
We have lost 97%of our wild tigers this century. With as few as 3,200 remaining, action is needed to increase and strengthen their habitat and protect the species from major threats such as poaching.
Succes story!!!
WWF - WWF welcomes DRC government decision to suspend oil exploration in world heritage site Virunga
thank you so much!!
we need the forest!!
For a living Amazon!!
One in ten known species on Earth lives in the Amazon. Its forests contain 90-140 billion metric tons of carbon, the release of even a portion of which would accelerate global warming significantly. 30 million people living in the Amazon depend on its resources and services – not to mention many millions more living as far away as North America and Europe, but still within the Amazon’s far-reaching climatic influence.

Antarctic Whaling
In 1994, a sanctuary for whales was set in the Antarctic Ocean area. But since 1987, the Japanese government has conducted an annual whale hunt in the Antarctic under the guise of "scientific" whaling.

Our Oceans
Seen from space the Earth is covered in a blue mantle. It is a planet on which the continents are dwarfed by the oceans surrounding them and the immensity of the marine realm.

A staggering 80 percent of all the life on Earth is to be found hidden beneath the waves and this vast global ocean pulses around our world driving the natural forces which maintain life on our planet.
The oceans provide vital sources of protein, energy, minerals and other products of use the world over and the rolling of the sea across the planet creates over half our oxygen, drives weather systems and natural flows of energy and nutrients around the world, transports water masses many times greater than all the rivers on land combined and keeps the Earth habitable.
Without the global ocean there would be no life on Earth.
It is gravely worrying, then, that we are damaging the oceans on a scale that is unimaginable to most people.

Forests
Evolving over millennia, tropical forests are one of the greatest storehouses of nature's diversity on Earth; of all of the world's land species, around two thirds live in forests. Many of these rare creatures - orang-utans, tigers, jaguars, forest elephants and rhinos - are increasingly threatened by extinction. :(
FACT!!
if bamboo wouldnt grow so fast, our lovely big pandas would maybe die casue they never eat something else than bamboo.
but these wonderful plants can even grow 1 METER A DAY!!!
WoOoOw!!!

13 coutries, in which live tigers, met in st. petersburg and worked out a savingplan. until 2022 they wanna DOUBLE the number of living tigers. today there are 3200 (so few...:() and in 2022 there should be 6400 tigers. this meeting could be realised because of a campagn of the wwf and vladimir putin.

Lights out!!
our worldwide energyproblem is discussed by many important persons and many different organisations everyday. should we use solarenergy? or better wind? but there is one easy thing we all can do:
when we leave a room, or daylight is bright enough,
LIGHTS OUT!!
this is saving energy (and money...:)).
qnd it's really easy...
